Role Summary:
The Quality Control Officer will support Quality Control inspections, identify quality risks in the process plant, and work with the Quality Control and Processing Team Lead/Supervisor to mitigate these risks. This role involves ensuring adherence to GMPs and food safety guidelines, sampling and calibration, data reporting, and certification activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce proper fish handling, icing techniques, and high hygiene standards.
- Monitor packaging and loading processes to ensure product freshness and presentation.
- Conduct quality control inspections and train staff on food safety and SQF standards.
- Sample products and ingredients, conduct quality inspections, and interpret data.
- Support continuous improvement activities and maintain up-to-date quality records.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Fisheries, or Aquaculture.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control operations.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in food safety management systems and audit processes.
Working Conditions:
- 48 hours per week.

Job Title: Hatchery Technician
Location: Mukono
Department: Hatchery
Reports to: Broodstock Team Lead
Job Grade: M1
Role Summary:
The Hatchery Technician will manage daily hatchery activities, ensuring efficient fry collection, nursing, and broodstock care. The goal is to minimize mortalities and complete transfers before noon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fish sampling, grading, and conditioning for transfer.
- Manage fish breeding, fry harvesting, and feeding.
- Ensure proper data/record keeping and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and prepare transport tanks for fish transfer.
Key Qualifications:
- Diploma in Fisheries & Aquaculture Management.
- 1 year of experience in hatchery operations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
