Role Overview:
The Specialist II, Grants and Finance will play a crucial role in supporting ChildFund International’s resource mobilization and management efforts. This role involves providing guidance and support on grant acquisition, budgeting, variance analysis, reporting, and administrative services. The specialist will ensure effective management of the Country Office’s grants portfolio from award receipt through close-out, addressing fiscal, administrative, and regulatory issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote strong safeguarding practices.
  • Ensure compliance with ChildFund’s post-award grant management and financial policies.
  • Lead costing and budgeting processes for project/grant development.
  • Participate in award start-up meetings and refine operational policies for effective grant management.
  • Monitor grant/contract activities and manage advances to sub-awardees.
  • Develop and implement remedial action plans for grant management deficiencies.
  • Provide technical assistance on grant management standards and donor regulations.
  • Ensure accurate registration of grants/contracts in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with the Assurance Team for grant reviews and compliance.
  • Support proposal development with budget and narrative alignment.
  • Calculate and manage monthly cash requests for projects.
  • Track grant accountabilities and prepare financial reports.
  • Assist with project close-out workshops and audits.

Required Experience and Education:

  • 5–7 years of experience managing grants and contracts, preferably in a child-focused development organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA) and Project Management certification (PMP/PMD) are advantageous.
  • Experience with USAID, USDOS, or USDOL grants is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, SharePoint, and advanced Excel.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in budgeting and financial reviews.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and collaborative skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Role Overview:

This role involves developing resource mobilization strategies, managing proposal development processes, and maintaining effective donor relationships. The position also includes post-award support and knowledge management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement grant acquisition and resource mobilization strategies.
  • Lead proposal management and ensure alignment with donor requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors and partners.
  • Coordinate proposal development processes, including budgeting and compliance.
  • Manage and update knowledge management systems for grants and proposals.
  • Support the Country Office in donor engagement and resource acquisition.
  • Oversee grant management and compliance, including reporting and audits.

Required Experience and Education:

  • 6–8 years of experience in business development, grants management, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Development, or related area. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and grant management.
  • Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations and experience with USG donors.
  • Strong skills in proposal writing, budgeting, and data analysis.

Required Competencies:

  • Proven team management and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English with additional language skills a plus.
