Role Summary:

We are seeking a Specialist Sr, Human Resources & Administrative to provide comprehensive HR and administrative support to our country office in Kampala. This role is critical in ensuring the effective management of HR functions, compliance with local labor laws, and efficient office administration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. HR Functions:
    • Coordinate employee engagement and logistics for training and activities.
    • Develop and oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Maintain accurate personnel files and manage employee grievance and performance programs.
    • Support recruitment processes and performance management.
    • Assist in payroll preparation and compliance with local laws.
  2. Administrative Services:
    • Manage supply chain, logistics, and fleet operations, ensuring compliance with policies and effective budget management.
    • Oversee facility management, including asset allocation, inventory, and disposal.
    • Serve as HR point of contact for insurance, audits, and other external/internal inquiries.
    • Represent ChildFund in HR networks and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
  3. Procurement and Compliance:
    • Implement procurement strategies and ensure value for money.
    • Manage procurement schedules, evaluate bids, and maintain purchasing systems.
    • Ensure compliance with ChildFund policies and legal requirements.

Required Experience and Education:

  • 5-7 years of experience in HR and administration, preferably in a multicultural environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in HR or related areas are desirable.
  • Experience in procurement, office management, and logistics is an advantage.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills in English; fluency in a local language is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multinational environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications (HRIS, procurement management software, etc.).
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High confidentiality ethic and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
