Swangz Avenue’s Azawi has finally addressed the recent on-stage clash with fellow artist Ray G, asserting that he lacks professionalism.
During the Comedy Store Ug event in Mbarara, Azawi and Ray G found themselves in a confrontation on stage.
In a viral video circulated on social media showed Ray G seizing the microphone as Azawi was about to start her performance.
Despite Azawi’s attempts to proceed, Ray G insisted on performing before her, resulting in a standoff and subsequent uproar among fans on social media.
In a statement released today, Azawi explained that she tried to avoid an unnecessary argument initiated by an unprofessional artist.
She expressed disappointment with Ray G’s interruption, which included verbal abuse, and criticized his use of the incident for attention. Azawi believes an apology is owed for his behavior.
Azawi emphasized that she, as an artist, does not control event schedules and labeled Ray G’s attempt to disrupt her set as unprofessional.
Furthermore, she pointed out that this isn’t the first time Ray G has employed such tactics in Mbarara, undermining fellow artists and exploiting tribal or regional sentiments for publicity.
Azawi assured her Mbarara fans that she remains dedicated to meeting their expectations, focusing on genuine interaction with supporters rather than resorting to publicity stunts for personal gain.
