Honorable Daudi Kabanda, a vocal advocate for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and a staunch supporter of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has once again ignited conversation on social media with his latest remarks. The outspoken Member of Parliament recently took to his X account to express his firm belief that General Muhoozi will secure the presidency in the 2026 elections, predicting an overwhelming victory with 79% of the vote.
Kabanda has long been a champion of General Muhoozi’s leadership, viewing him as the future of Uganda. Through media appearances, public events, and social media, he has consistently promoted the PLU and Muhoozi’s presidential ambitions. However, his latest comments have stirred considerable discussion.
In a tweet posted earlier today, Kabanda declared, “Many are afraid of Muhoozi’s leadership because they know it’s going to be phenomenal,” while also advising the “Mukade wekanisa” to heed his warning. The cryptic phrase “Mukade wekanisa” has left many on social media puzzled, with speculation about who or what Kabanda might be alluding to.
The tweet has sparked mixed reactions. Some of Kabanda’s supporters echoed his confidence, while others criticized his choice of words, cautioning that such rhetoric could backfire. Detractors have accused him of deepening political divisions and exacerbating tensions in a nation already grappling with various challenges.
Kabanda’s remarks are just the latest in a series of provocative statements from NRM members who back General Muhoozi’s bid for the presidency. As the 2026 elections draw closer, it remains to be seen how such declarations will influence Uganda’s political landscape—whether they will rally support for the PLU or drive away potential voters.
Despite the controversy, Honorable Kabanda remains steadfast, using his platform to advocate for what he believes is the best future for Uganda.
