Social media is buzzing after a juicy photo of State Minister Phiona Nyamutoro serving juice to her husband, the famous musician Eddy Kenzo, and fellow artist Alien Skin at their Buziga home went viral. The image has sparked a social media storm, with Ugandan model Doreen Kabareebe—now living the high life in the U.S.—pouring fuel on the fire with some spicy comments that have tongues wagging across the internet.
Kabareebe, never one to shy away from controversy, took to her platforms to blast Nyamutoro for what she described as a “cringe-worthy” display of wifely submission. “When you marry a traditional man. Oba wakuffa milimu despite your status! This can NEVER be me…” Kabareebe sneered, making it clear she would never bow to such domestic duties, especially as a high-profile woman.
Her comments sent shockwaves through the Ugandan online community, igniting a fiery debate over what it means to be a modern wife versus a traditional one. Some netizens jumped in to throw shade at Nyamutoro, with one user, Mutesi Marion Trish, tearing into the minister’s choice of husband: “I really pity some women. How on earth can a whole minister and well-spoken woman like Nyamutoro wake up one day, marry an uneducated man and also go ahead and serve him? Like how? These things we shouldn’t allow as women. Godfrey Kuteesa didn’t mince words as he dragged Mutesi for filth, calling her out as a “non-married hooker” with no right to criticize a “happily married” woman like Nyamutoro. “In your entire clan, no one has ever been married, let alone being introduced, and you’re here throwing pity at an achieved woman who’s happily serving her husband?? Muli busirusiru nnyo,” Kuteesa fumed, slamming Mutesi for her “audacity” to diss marriage and its perks.
The drama didn’t stop there, with fans of Nyamutoro pointing out that Kabareebe is in no position to compare herself to a government minister. Some even suggested that Kabareebe’s comments reek of jealousy, questioning why a model with a jet-setting lifestyle would be so pressed about a simple act of serving juice.
