The National Unity Platform ( NUP) leader , Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has dropped Nyendo- Mukungwe MP, Mathias Mpuuga as the leader of Opposition in Parliament.
Mpuuga has been the leader of Opposition since May 28, 2021 , meaning he has served in the position for 2 years ,6 months and 26 days . He has been at forefront of demanding the release of the 18 missing party supporters.
Mpuuga has been replaced by Joel Ssenyonyi, the Nakawa West member of Parilamennt.
Ssenyonyi , previously known for his role as the spokesperson for the Opposition party, the National Unity Platform, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to his new position.
Meanwhile , Mpuuga,who also serves as NUP’s Deputy president in Buganda , has been named commissioner of Parliament.
Hon Muwanga Kivumbi has been appointed as the chairperson of the public Accounts Committee ,with Hon Namugga Gorreti as the deputy.
