Pastor Aloysious Bugingo, the lead pastor of Prayer Ministries International, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Tuesday night. The shocking incident unfolded as gunmen targeted the pastor’s vehicle, leaving it riddled with over 15 bullets.
As news of the attack spread like wildfire, it was revealed that Pastor Bugingo’s wife, Susan Makula, collapsed and fainted upon receiving the distressing news. However, reports indicate that she has since stabilized, surrounded by support from family and well-wishers during this trying time.
Eyewitnesses at the scene provided a chilling account of the harrowing assassination attempt. Salt TV presenter Mutebi recounted, “Pastor Bugingo hid under the steering wheel; that’s how the bullets missed him. He also drove after the gunmen to knock them down.”

The assailants, presumably caught off guard by the unexpected retaliation, fled the scene.
“Despite sustaining injuries during the attack, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago Hospital.
Regrettably, his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, succumbed to the assault and was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital. Currently, Pastor Bugingo is undergoing medical treatment and is under close monitoring,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said.
