Ugandan singer and dancer Phina Mugerwa, popularly known as Phina Masanyalaze, has bid a final farewell to her mother, Mrs. Annet Kiwanuka, who was laid to rest on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Jimbo Nsubule, Wakiso District.
The burial was attended by family members, friends, fellow musicians, and supporters who gathered to pay their last respects in an emotional ceremony.
During the service, Phina was overwhelmed by grief and reportedly collapsed, prompting mourners to rush to her aid as they comforted the heartbroken singer.
Mrs. Kiwanuka passed away after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a grieving family and loved ones.
A vigil had been held in the days leading up to the burial, with members of Uganda’s entertainment industry extending messages of sympathy and support to Phina.
The singer has received an outpouring of condolences from fellow artists, fans, and well-wishers, many of whom have continued to pray for strength and comfort for her family during this difficult time.
