Ugandan content creator, standup comedian and now streamer Sammie Mo, has opened up about the start of his streaming journey with something more important,  the support of his family and has launched with his grandmother’s journey from the village.

Sammie started streaming on platforms including YouTube and Twitch, hoping to connect with audiences, make people laugh, inspire others and create memorable moments.

At the heart of his early journey was his grandmother, Dada Janet.

Rather than starting his streaming story with celebrities or well-known personalities, Sammie chose to share the experience with someone close to him. Dada Janet became part of some of the moments that shaped his early days as a streamer.

For Sammie, his grandmother represented home, family, sacrifice and the people who believed in him before his work became widely known.

As he continued creating content, Sammie discovered that streaming was about more than simply going live. It allowed him to interact with viewers, share stories, create laughter and build a community around his content.

His moments with Dada Janet also connected with viewers, highlighting the special bond between a grandmother and her grandson.

For Sammie, the journey started in Uganda, with a dream and his grandmother by his side.
