Natasha Nyonyozi was crowned Miss Uganda 2024/25 on Saturday, August 3, at a prestigious event held at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala. She succeeded Hannah Karema Tumukunde, the previous Miss Uganda, who was crowned on March 18, 2023.
The Contest
The grand finale saw Natasha emerge victorious among 28 finalists, with Suraya Umeimah Bashuaeb named the first runner-up and Joan Nabatanzi as the second runner-up. Natasha was standout contestant number 2, and her peers even elected her as the president of the Miss Uganda class of 2024/25, reflecting her leadership qualities.
Early Life and Education
Born and raised in Kyonyo, Kamuganguzi, near Katuna in the Kabale district, 23-year-old Natasha demonstrated remarkable charisma, elegance, compassion, passion, poise, and confidence throughout the competition. She studied at Coventry University in England, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.
Career and Entrepreneurship
Currently, Natasha is an entrepreneur and the founder of a beauty parlour called “Girl Hive,” located at The Cube, Kisementi, Shop B20. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to beauty and fashion have set her apart as a role model for young women in Uganda.
Advocacy and Dreams
When asked about her victory, Natasha said, “Becoming Miss Uganda has been my dream since I was 10 years old. My parents and fans have been incredibly supportive. With this crown, I aim to transform lives, become a voice for teenage mothers, young girls without access to education, and those lacking sexual and reproductive health products and services.”
Natasha is also a strong advocate for children with special needs, particularly those with autism. Her involvement in charity work supporting these causes has been notable, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact beyond the beauty pageant stage.
The Miss Uganda Grand Finale 2024
The Miss Uganda Grand Finale 2024 was a star-studded event, featuring notable guests such as Miss Uganda Hannah Karema, Miss World Tanzania Halima Ahmad Kopwe, and Lesego Chombo (Miss World Africa 2024 and Miss Botswana 2022). The event highlighted not only the beauty and talent of the contestants but also the cultural and social significance of the Miss Uganda pageant.
