Rose Tumusiime, the woman who was with late Afrigo Band singer Moses Matovu during the confrontation that preceded his death, will not face criminal charges in the case, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Lino Anguzu, has clarified.

According to the prosecution, Tumusiime is instead expected to serve as a key witness in the case against Vincent Arnold Nsamba, alias Sitenda, who is accused of assaulting Matovu.

Prosecutors allege that Nsamba admitted to punching Matovu during a confrontation on September 24 at a house he had rented for Tumusiime.

Matovu reportedly fell during the confrontation and was rushed to hospital before later succumbing to injuries sustained in the incident.

Nsamba is facing charges arising from the alleged assault and death of the celebrated Afrigo Band singer, while Tumusiime is expected to assist investigators and prosecutors by providing evidence as a prosecution witness.
