Gen. (Rtd) Salim Saleh has left attendees amused after taking a playful swipe at singer King Saha over his hit song Akamwanyi during the launch of the Uganda Coffee Group at Kapeeka Industrial Park.
Saleh jokingly challenged the song’s lyrics about coffee being stolen, declaring that the coffee had now returned.
“King Saha lied in the Akamwanyi song when he said their coffee was stolen. I want to assure him today that the coffee is back,” Saleh said.
The remark came as Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation and brother to President Yoweri Museveni, presided over the launch of the private sector-led Uganda Coffee Group.
The initiative aims to mobilise investment, promote value addition and strengthen Uganda’s coffee value chain to increase the value of the country’s coffee on international markets.
The launch at Kapeeka Industrial Park, which Saleh helped develop into a manufacturing hub, forms part of wider efforts to expand the coffee industry and create more opportunities for farmers and investors.
