The city of Kampala is grappling with a somber incident as David Mwesigwa has been discovered dead in his apartment, having taken his own life following the turmoil of a failed relationship. The heartbreaking turn of events unfolded against a backdrop of depression, evident in Mwesigwa’s poignant Twitter bio that read, “Depressed. Disappeared.”

The 28-year-old, known as David K’la King on social media, had reportedly shown signs of emotional distress and had contemplated suicide on multiple occasions. The tragic conclusion to his struggle came to light when one of his friends, who was called for help at 5 am, arrived at his apartment around 8 am, only to find Mwesigwa lifeless.

Heartbroken, the friend took to Twitter to share the devastating news, stating, “This is David K’la King’s friend; he called me to help him at 5 am, but I couldn’t move. Just reached his home, and I found him dead. My friend is gone 💔 called the police and took his body to Mulago with the help of the house caretaker 💔”

It has been revealed that David Mwesigwa left behind a note shedding light on the factors that led to his decision. The note stated, “Tracy made me kill myself. She is the one in this photo.”

The content of the note points to the complexities and challenges within a relationship that may have contributed to Mwesigwa’s deep emotional distress.

The incident has sparked discussions about mental health and the need for support systems for those facing emotional struggles. Mental health advocates emphasize the importance of reaching out to friends and loved ones who may be exhibiting signs of distress and encouraging open conversations about mental well-being.
