Company Overview:
NIC General Insurance, a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited (NIC), was established on March 3, 2014, in compliance with the Insurance (Amendment) Act. NIC General Insurance is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Branch Manager.
Job Title: Branch Manager
Reports To: Branch Coordinator
Purpose: To manage client relations, oversee branch accounting, handle premium collections, process claims, and prepare periodic reports according to company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide client support and advice on general insurance inquiries, complaints, and appeals, and generate relevant correspondence in line with underwriting standards and guidelines.
- Prepare endorsements and handle correspondence related to new, renewal, or alterations of insurance policies as per underwriting standards.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, capture all business transactions (including claims and policies) in the system following guiding policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly statistical reports for head office review according to reporting guidelines.
- Follow up on premium payments allowed on credit and prepare monthly reports on outstanding claims in line with reporting standards.
- Conduct risk inspections and verify claims in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
- Prepare claim files and payment vouchers for approval in line with policies and procedures.
- Manage petty cash, process payments, make disbursements upon approval, and provide periodic accountability in adherence to accounting standards.
- Ensure daily banking of collected funds (premiums, renewals, etc.) following accounting procedures and guidelines.
- Perform any other professional duties as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Marketing or a related field from a reputable university.
- Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance is an added advantage.
- At least five (5) years of experience in insurance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Ability to produce results with minimal supervision.
