Position Summary
The Project Accountant will support the implementation of conservation projects at WWF Uganda. Working closely with the Senior Accountant, Grants and Finance Specialist, and project teams, you will ensure effective financial management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project fund flows and prepare calls for funds from donors.
- Process payments to staff, partners, and third parties via online banking and checks.
- Maintain accurate financial records in the accounting system and prepare monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare compliant budgets for grant proposals and ongoing projects.
- Ensure project work-plans and budget absorption align with forecasts.
- Prepare and submit donor financial reports in accordance with agreed schedules.
- Conduct training sessions on internal financial policies and donor regulations.
- Improve internal control processes and maintain project records for compliance.
- Coordinate audit processes and follow up on recommendations.
- Identify and report risks affecting project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or ACCA is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international NGO.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially advanced Excel; experience with ERP systems is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.

The Wildlife and Protected Areas Manager will support the Forests and Biodiversity Program Coordinator in managing biodiversity conservation activities, ensuring timely project delivery and alignment with conservation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and implement conservation innovations and best practices.
- Support the development of Protected Area Management Plans and financing mechanisms.
- Develop and implement Human-Wildlife Conflict Management Plans.
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of conservation activities.
- Build partnerships and advocate for biodiversity management.
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Wildlife Management, Natural Resources Management, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology or Management.
- At least 7 years of experience in biodiversity conservation projects.
- Knowledge of wildlife crime interventions and conservation technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
