Award-winning journalist and former Head of Current Affairs at NTV Uganda, Raymond Mujuni, has spoken out about his reduced public presence and gradual withdrawal from frontline journalism.
Mujuni, known for his investigative reporting and high-impact exposés, says his decision to step back from mainstream media and activism was driven by exhaustion and prolonged psychological strain linked to years of high-risk reporting.
The journalist revealed that he experienced symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which he attributed to the pressure and intensity of investigative journalism in Uganda’s media landscape.
He said the toll of continuous high-stakes reporting eventually forced him to reassess his career priorities and lifestyle.
Mujuni noted that he is now focusing on podcasting, family responsibilities, and more targeted forms of media engagement.
