About the Organisation:

Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) is a Public Limited Liability Company established in 2001, wholly owned by the Government.

Job Summary:
Oversee all regulatory engagements with key stakeholders such as the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETCL), and others, focusing on tariff and license matters, investment approvals, and commercial regulatory issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate regulatory engagements and public communications.
• Manage tariff applications and quarterly reports.
• Advise management on regulatory changes and implications.
• Ensure timely recovery of UEGCL’s revenue from UETCL.
• Support business development with tariff models and negotiations.

Qualifications:

• Upper second Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or Energy Management.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the energy sector, with at least 3 years at a senior level.
• Professional qualifications in ACCA, CPA, CFA are an advantage.

Job Vacancy: Senior Risk Officer – Corporate Advisory

Reports to: Head of Risk

Job Summary:
Develop and implement an effective Enterprise Risk Management framework and Business Continuity Management Program to support UEGCL’s strategic objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and review risk management policies.
• Identify and assess potential risks.
• Prepare and present risk management reports.
• Implement Business Continuity Management Program.
• Train and sensitize staff on risk management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Actuarial Science.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Risk Management and Business Continuity certifications.
• Minimum 6 years of overall work experience in risk management, with at least 3 years in a related area.
