Summary:
The Procurement and Administrative Assistant will work under the overall supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and direct supervision of the Senior Procurement Associate. The role includes supporting procurement, administrative, and inventory management functions, as well as managing courier services.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement: Manage procurement documentation, perform goods receipt, support project staff, call for quotations, evaluate bids, and assist with asset verification.
- Administration: Oversee facilities management, inspect water filtration systems, maintain repair records, manage mission generators, and respond to emergencies.
- Office Management: Conduct system servicing, follow-up with contractors, and manage inventory.
- Courier Services: Handle mail collection, motorbike maintenance, and adhere to driving regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: University degree in Business Administration or related field (2 years experience) or High School diploma with 4 years relevant experience.
- Experience: At least 2 years of continuous riding and driving experience.
- Skills: Knowledge of VHF Radios, routes within Kampala, strong computer skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English required.
Requirements:
- Valid Riding License (A class).
- Government driving test grade II and III.
- Recent certificate of good conduct from Uganda Police.
- Basic motorbike/vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Flexibility in working hours.
Job Title: Programme Assistant – Migration Management
Summary:
The Programme Assistant will support the MPA Unit in planning, organizing, and implementing project activities under the supervision of the Head of Programmes & Policy Development and the National Programme Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing project activities.
- Prepare and report on project activities according to IOM and donor formats.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders and support project documentation.
- Organize trainings, meetings, and support Monitoring and Evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma with 4 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years relevant experience.
- Experience: Experience in migration management projects, coordination with government and NGOs, understanding of migration issues in Uganda.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Languages: Proficiency in English required.
