Summary:
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) seeks a Senior Officer Information Services to oversee the Commission’s records management program, ensuring adherence to professional practices that meet the organisation’s information needs.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient retrieval tools for information management in the registry and records centre.
- Maintain and update the UCC file classification scheme and file diary; create new files based on organisational business activities.
- Coordinate with courier services to ensure timely delivery of items.
- Maintain records with permanent enduring value.
- Oversee the digitisation of records with permanent value.
- Conduct onboarding sessions for staff on registry procedures and the Electronic Records and Document Management System (ERDMS).
- Provide technical support for filing and records management.
- Handle budgeting and reporting for the registry and records centre.
- Manage and review performance of direct reports; align tasks with organisational goals and set development goals.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the line supervisor.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Adherence to file management practices.
- Timely delivery of incoming and outgoing items.
- Accuracy and completeness of records management.
- Average response time to departmental inquiries.
- Regular staff performance reviews.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Information Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration (focus on Information Systems).
- Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years in information management or a related field.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Technical: Proficiency in database management; expertise in records and information management.
- Behavioural: Strong communication skills; excellent customer service; demonstrated integrity; effective supervisory and leadership skills.

Summary:
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is looking for an Officer Broadcasting Authorisation to conduct technical evaluations of broadcast license applications, equipment authorisation applications, and numbering resources in line with the Communication Act, UCC policies, and international best practices.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Process broadcast infrastructure applications in compliance with relevant standards.
- Manage information related to logical channel numbering resources for billing and compliance.
- Ensure databases on broadcast infrastructure and license applications are up to date and accessible.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tools for assessing broadcast licenses and authorisations.
- Ensure efficient functioning of systems and tools for broadcast authorisations and technical assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line supervisor.

- Technical: Knowledge of broadcasting engineering; ability to assess technical information.
