DJ Nimrod of Galaxy FM recently sparked controversy during the station’s end-of-year special on the music industry. Despite praising Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, and Bobi Wine for transforming Uganda’s music scene, Nimrod argued that Bobi Wine’s impact has been minimal.
Nimrod credited Chameleone and Bebe Cool for mentoring emerging artists and staying actively engaged in the music scene.
In contrast, he highlighted Bobi Wine’s shift to politics, leading a major party, as a distraction from his musical contributions.
According to Nimrod, Eddy Kenzo has emerged as a pivotal figure in shaping the industry. Kenzo not only produced chart-topping hits but also actively advocated for change, pushing for amendments to copyright laws and fostering unity among artists through the Musicians Federation.
Nimrod acknowledged Bobi Wine’s initial role in the industry’s revolution but asserted that figures like Eddy Kenzo are currently driving positive change in the music scene.
