The High court in Kampala has ordered Vision Group to apologise to the media personality and actress Phiona Nabitengero alias Fifi Da Queen and to retract the defamatory story that was ran in their newspaper publication about her.
On 26th September 2023 , Bukedde newspaper publication Vol 28 ,No. 268 issued an article that suggested that their former employee Fifi Da Queen was arrested over being linked to Sispapa’s aggravated robbery.
Fifi Da Queen quickly debunked claims on social media after crossing paths with the reports before suing the industrial area – based media outlets.
She went on to demand the media out an apology on their front page, the same size of the story and was published about her.
She also requested a compasenation of Shs1B for the damages caused to her name and brand plus Shs50M as legal fees so far injected in the legal action.
Fifi Da Queen gave New Vision group three days to act accordingly and threatened to instruct her legal team to insititute civil and criminal proceedings against the Industrial area based outlet if they fail to do so.
However, her former bosses gave deaf ear to Fifi’s demands and decided to face with her in courts and since then ,the two have been battling until October 24 when justice Musa Sekaana in his ruling instructed the two parties to settle their issues outside the court and also ordered Bukedde News paper publication to run an apology within 7 days and also to compensate her 25 Millions in damage.
Upon winning the case fifi took the jubilations on her socials and thanked her lawyers for the tireless work they did for her
