Shocking revelations have emerged about Fr. Dominic Alinga, the priest arrested for the murder of a Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) worker in Entebbe. Fr. Alinga, who was previously excommunicated for stealing offertory worth six million Ugandan shillings, is now at the center of a murder investigation.
The incident occurred on August 3, 2024. According to a statement from Police spokesperson Rusooke Kituuma, “At around 1:50 AM, police received a report of a suspected murder along the road from Kitooro to Entebbe International Airport.”
The victim, identified as Ngorok John Bosco, a 30-year-old employee of the URA’s Domestic Tax Department, was found with stab wounds to the neck and head. “Ngorok was rushed to a Grade B hospital by the police but was pronounced dead 20 minutes later. The police immediately launched an investigation and began tracking the suspect,” the statement reads.
In a swift turn of events, Uganda Police announced the arrest of the key suspect. “Uganda Police wishes to announce that the key suspect in this murder has been arrested. He is Dominic Alinga, a priest at the Catholic parish church of Irir in Nakapiripirit,” Kituuma added.
Fr. Alinga had been suspended from the church by the bishop on allegations of stealing offertory worth six million Ugandan shillings. This suspension, which led to his excommunication, adds a dark layer to his involvement in the recent crime.
The investigation into Alinga’s connection with the murder of Ngorok is ongoing. Police are working to piece together the events leading up to the fatal stabbing. “Once complete, the police will determine whether to arraign him before the court,” the police spokesperson concluded.
