Renowned Ugandan singer and President Uganda National Musicians Federation, Edrisa Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo on Monday 27th November ,2023 met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The meeting that place at Nakasero state Lodge.
According to Eddy Kenzo ,it was a great honor for him to meet the president and sharing a moment with. And that the meeting was about addressing issues concerning the creative sector and also to notify him about the role Uganda National Musicians Federation Leadership in Uganda music industry.
He went to tell the president about the urgent need for the amendment of the copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act 2006.
“In the quest for streamlining our industry and lobbing for a well functioning Music industry, today i met my Mzee H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and we discussed the urgent need for the amendment of the Copyright & Neighboring Rights Act 2006. It was a great discussion in which he promised to follow into the matter with the urgency it requires.
He also accepted my request for a meeting to introduce to him the Uganda National Musicians Federation Leadership and how far we have gone as a federation in building national structures for a more inclusive and vibrant Music industry.”, Eddy Kenzo disclosed.
However ,it is rumored that Eddy Kenzo and his federation members are part of selected number of Musicians whose music will be used during the campaign trail of the president come 2026 and it is allegedly that they are going to beg 20 billions from State for their services to the president.
