The Sheraton Kampala Hotel gardens were alive with the harmonious sounds of gospel music as Gabie Ntaate took the stage for her “Cheza For Yesu” concert on Friday night, May 17, 2024.
Although the evening began on a subdued note due to a downpour, the energy quickly escalated as enthusiastic attendees arrived to experience a night filled with uplifting music.
Media personalities King Wesley and Lady Bizo did a commendable job hosting the event, creating an engaging atmosphere for the evening’s performances.
Ntaate, dressed in striking gold and white attire, captivated the audience with her powerful vocals. She opened with a soul-stirring a cappella prayer before performing her popular songs, including “Ninze,” “Wano,” and “Gwasembayo.” In her second session, adorned in a stunning pink jumpsuit, she delighted the crowd with hits like “Awo” and “Brag About God.”
The night reached its peak with Ntaate’s performance of her hit song “Cheza For Yesu,” accompanied by a group of dancers that brought the audience to their feet. Her live band added a dynamic and enriching touch to the concert.
Guest performances by artists such as Coopy Bly, Zabuli, and Damascas added to the evening’s excitement. Notable personalities, including Halima Namakula, Fabiola, and Frank Gashumba, were also in attendance, adding a touch of glamour to the event.
Despite the captivating performances, some attendees noted issues with sound quality at certain points during the concert. Additionally, the turnout was less than ideal, with many empty seats visible in the VIP section.
As the event concluded, Ntaate emphasized that the night was not just a concert but a prayer, highlighting the spiritual significance of the gathering.
