Gomba Land Strife: Infamous ex-armed robber, Paddy Sserunjogi, known as Sobi, met a fatal end as an enraged mob attacked him amid a land dispute in Gomba.
The conflict unfolded in Kibaale LC 1, Kigumba parish, Maddu Sub-County, where two groups clashed over ownership of the contested land once owned by the late Paul Kibi.
Over 50 individuals armed with sticks, pangas, and spears confronted another group asserting their right to the land. Amid the altercation, Sobi fell victim to a deadly assault.
The disputed land was initially purchased by Kalisa, who paid 20 million of the total 100 million in 2007.
However, allegations arose that he acquired it from the wrong person. Another faction, led by Deborah Nagadiya and Kiwewe Barton, claiming to be Kibi Paul’s descendants, presented land titles asserting their ownership.
Legal proceedings were initiated, but before resolution, one group brought in thugs from Kisenyi, Kampala, further escalating the tension. Police confirmed the destruction of property by Kalisa’s group on the disputed land
