City businessman and philanthropist Hamis Kiggundu has set social media abuzz with the highly anticipated reveal of top performers for the grand opening of the revamped Hamz Stadium, located at the historic Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds. The event, scheduled for June 1, 2024, promises to be an unforgettable extravaganza.
Taking to his social media, Hamis shared a list featuring over thirty of Uganda’s finest entertainers, ensuring a star-studded lineup that is sure to dazzle attendees. Among the confirmed performers are crowd favorites Alien Skin, Bebe Cool, Sheebah Karungi, Eddy Kenzo, David Lutalo, Fik Fameica, and Rema Namakula. These artists are set to deliver electrifying performances that will make the grand opening a night to remember.
But that’s not all! The festivities will kick off with a variety of sports activities, including Netball, Basketball, Boxing, and Football. The excitement will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display, lighting up the skies over Nakivubo in a celebration of entertainment and sports.

For those planning to attend, the entry fees are set at UGX 50,000 for Ordinary tickets, UGX 100,000 for VIP access, and UGX 150,000 for Executive seating. Gates will open early at 9 AM, giving revelers plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the day’s activities.
The newly revamped Hamz Stadium is an architectural marvel with a seating capacity of 25,000 spectators. The stadium boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern gym, medical facility, restaurants, and more, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
