Concern has raised in the Christian community after Pastor Irene Manjeri, the founder of Bethel Healing Ministries, collapsed while ministering during a church service over the weekend and was rushed to the hospital.
The incident happened at Bishop Patrick Makumbi’s church, where Pastor Manjeri was preaching before she suddenly collapsed midway through the service. Worshippers and church leaders quickly came to her aid before she was rushed to a medical facility for evaluation.
The shocking incident came just moments after Pastor Manjeri had spoken openly about her recent health struggles.
Addressing the congregation, she revealed that she had been battling extreme fatigue following a demanding ministry schedule that included a crusade in Mayuge just days earlier, after returning from ministry trips to Hong Kong, Japan, and the United States.
Pastor Manjeri also disclosed that she had recently been admitted to a hospital in the United States after doctors discovered that her heart was pumping unusually fast, a condition that required medical attention.
Despite her health challenges, she said she continued with her ministry assignments upon returning to Uganda, a decision that may have contributed to her collapse.
Videos circulating on social media show the emotional moments after she fell, with members of the congregation rushing to assist her as prayers filled the church.
The incident has sparked an outpouring of prayers and messages of support from Christians across Uganda, with many asking God to grant the respected preacher a quick and full recovery.
Pastor Irene Manjeri is one of Uganda’s prominent female pastors, widely known for her healing crusades, powerful preaching, and leadership of Bethel Healing Ministries. She has also openly shared personal testimonies about challenges she has overcome, inspiring many believers over the years.
