Ugandan long-distance runner Benjamin Kiplagat was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants in Kimumu, Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, Kenya.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning as Kiplagat was driving home to Kimunu.
His lifeless body was discovered in his car with a deep knife cut to his neck.
The Moiben Sub-county police are actively investigating the crime after receiving reports of an accident.
Police commandant Stephen Okal stated that Kiplagat’s vehicle collided with a motorcycle, strategically placed by the perpetrators before carrying out the attack.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information surfaces.
