The Miss Uganda beauty pageant has been hit with some juicy accusations, and it’s all coming from one brave contestant, Lourine Adyero. This 23-year-old UCU student isn’t holding back, and she’s calling out the pageant organizers for some serious discrimination and favoritism. Buckle up, because this story has all the drama!
According to Adyero, the glitzy world of Miss Uganda is not all it’s cracked up to be. She claims that the competition is rigged to favor contestants from wealthy families, leaving those from more modest backgrounds in the dust. “The way they were favoring someone’s parent, we all saw that and we were like, hmm,” Adyero revealed. Ouch! It seems like there was some serious side-eye going on backstage!
But that’s not all—things get even messier! Adyero spilled that the contestants were made to cough up a whopping UGX 1,700,000 for a trip to Mombasa, even though Uganda Airlines was supposed to sponsor the whole thing. And the drama didn’t stop there—apparently, the contestants were left starving. “We never ate; we starved,” she lamented. Talk about a hunger game!
So, what does the Miss Uganda Foundation have to say about all this? Brenda Nanyonjo, the CEO, isn’t exactly shocked by the accusations. In her words, it’s not unusual for contestants to complain after being eliminated. She insists that the pageant is fair and that Adyero just didn’t get enough votes to stay in the game. Ouch, Brenda!
