Richard Muhumuza, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo’s bodyguard, met a tragic end on Tuesday night when their car was riddled with bullets.
Despite the pastor and driver surviving with injuries, Muhumuza lost his life.
Contrary to initial beliefs that he was just a church member and bodyguard to the pastor, it has been confirmed that Muhumuza was a corporal in the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) attached to the Special Forces Command (SFC).
The SFC spokesperson, Maj Jimmy Omara, acknowledged Muhumuza’s affiliation and stated that an investigation is underway.
At 45 years old, with three children, Muhumuza’s body awaits a postmortem at Mulago City Mortuary, and UPDF will handle his burial preparations, scheduled for Friday.
Simultaneously, investigations into his murder and the attempted killing of Bugingo have commenced.
