Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan, popularly known as Zari The Boss Lady, has once again made her funeral wishes clear, insisting that her final send-off should be a strictly private affair.

Speaking about her wishes, Zari said she only wants family members, close relatives, and sheikhs to attend her burial, with no public crowds or unnecessary gatherings.

According to the influencer, her decision is driven by growing concerns over people turning funerals into social media content. She criticized the increasing trend of mourners filming, taking photos, and livestreaming emotional moments instead of respecting the deceased and grieving families.

Zari also expressed concern that such content could expose her children to unnecessary public scrutiny or even bullying after her passing.

The businesswoman said she wants her family to be given the privacy and dignity they deserve during such a difficult time, without the pressure of cameras and online attention.

Her remarks have since sparked debate across Uganda and the region, where the use of smartphones, TikTok, and Facebook Live at funerals has become increasingly common.

While some social media users have supported her call for more privacy and respect during burials, others argue that public figures naturally attract public interest even after death.

Zari’s comments have once again ignited conversations about funeral etiquette, the impact of social media on grieving families, and the importance of respecting people’s final wishes.
