National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has dismissed a viral image linking him to a luxury house in Lubowa, Wakiso District, insisting he has no connection to the property.

Rubongoya said he initially ignored the image but was forced to respond after some supporters contacted him to congratulate him, believing the claims were genuine.

“By now, several of you might have seen this fake picture making rounds. Ignore and treat with contempt,” he wrote on social media.

He claimed the house was reportedly listed for sale on real estate websites and said he does not even know the road leading to the property.

“I don’t even know the road that goes to that house which according to Real Estate websites is up for sale in Lubowa. I wouldn’t have responded to the misinformation, but some people who were genuinely misled reached out ‘congratulating me’ on the achievement Anyways, this is just a handiwork of detractors who always manufacture lies because they have nothing useful to offer. Rest assured, our focus remains on what truly matters.”- He added.

Rubongoya blamed political detractors for spreading what he described as lies, adding that NUP remained focused on issues affecting the country.
