Renowned Ugandan singer Cindy finds herself embroiled in a legal maelstrom after an alleged assault case that unfolded at Club Villa in Bukoto. The incident, which occurred in mid-December, has now led to criminal charges and a police investigation.

Cindy’s night began innocuously enough with a performance at Skyz Hotel Naguru, followed by a rendezvous at Club Villa in Bukoto. The singer, known for her association with the controversial billionaire Gabriel, found herself in the company of loaded Congolese friends. Gabriel, Cindy’s benefactor and brand ambassador for high-end cosmetics, had orchestrated the singer’s trip to Dubai for various errands.

The scandal erupted when Dr. Tony Luggya, an enthusiastic fan and a guest at a nearby wedding meeting, couldn’t contain his excitement upon seeing Cindy. Overcome by fan fervor, Dr. Luggya began capturing photos and videos of the singer enjoying her evening with the Congolese entourage. This unauthorized documentation irked Cindy, leading to a confrontation.

Allegedly, Cindy’s Congolese companions retaliated with a brutal beating, leaving Dr. Luggya unconscious and requiring hospitalization for several days. The aggrieved fan, upon recovery, enlisted the legal services of Kampala lawyer Moses Karugaba, prompting a criminal case against Cindy and her associates.

Cindy initially resisted arrest until her manager, Daphine, persuaded her to surrender to Kira Road Police. Interrogated for hours, Cindy was subsequently released on a police bond, albeit without legal representation. The charges levied against her include aggravated robbery and assault.

The aggravated robbery charge stems from Dr. Luggya’s claim that he was forcefully relieved of Shs11m by Cindy’s handlers at Club Villa. The assault charge pertains to the severe injuries inflicted on him during the altercation.

Police investigations, led by DPC Kira Road Police (Edna), have resulted in two opened files for the assault and aggravated robbery cases. The suspects are collectively identified as “occupants of motor vehicle registration number 6308AA23,” with Dr. Tony Luggya as the complainant.

Cindy’s release on bond came with the condition that she produces money from her Congolese benefactor, Gabriel, within two weeks. Failure to comply may result in her re-arrest. Her manager, Daphine, pledged to ensure Cindy’s cooperation with police conditions.

During the interrogation, Cindy admitted recognizing the individuals involved in the assault but denied allegations of instigating the violence. The unfolding scandal promises to reveal more details as the investigation continues, leaving fans and the public eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this celebrity saga.
