ATC Uganda, a premier telecommunications infrastructure provider, has partnered with Kyambogo University to host an innovative career fair aimed at providing students with invaluable industry insights and career guidance.

The main goal of this event was to offer students a unique chance to learn directly from distinguished experts in the telecom sector.

This one-day event created a vibrant platform for students, professionals, and industry leaders to network, share knowledge, and receive career advice. Key highlights included keynote presentations by Airtel Uganda’s Chief Technical Officer, Rajesh Argawal, and MTN Uganda’s Head of IT, Abel Kibiryango, alongside a dynamic panel discussion featuring telecom industry experts.

Representing the Chief Executive Officer at the fair, ATC Uganda’s Head of HR, Stella Ssekweyama, stressed the critical role of skilled education in driving socio-economic growth. She remarked, “ATC is committed to enhancing graduates’ skills to help them compete effectively for job opportunities as they advance in their careers.”

ATC Uganda is dedicated to supporting university students’ transition into the job market. Their recent two-day mentorship program for students from Makerere and Kyambogo University aimed to encourage more girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Additionally, ATC Uganda’s 12-month Graduate Trainee Programme seeks to identify and nurture young talent, equipping them with the skills needed for improved employability across various fields.

The collaboration between Kyambogo University and ATC Uganda highlights a shared commitment to nurturing talent by bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical industry experience.

Kasadha Agabo, President of the Kyambogo University Engineering Society, expressed gratitude for the partnership, acknowledging its role in providing students with crucial hands-on skills for their future careers.

With an annual output of 400 graduates, career fairs like this play a vital role in helping students excel in their fields and contribute significantly to the country’s development.
