Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo is mourning Austrian missionary Dr. Maria Luise Prean, popularly known as Maama Maria, describing her as an angel in human form who touched his life with motherly love and kindness.

Prean, who died at 87, was more than a missionary to Kenzo. In his emotional tribute, the award-winning singer portrayed her as a God-sent mother figure whose teachings and selfless care made a lasting difference in his life.

Kenzo expressed gratitude for the love and support she gave him, celebrating a woman whose influence extended beyond her humanitarian work to the personal relationships she built with those around her.

Maama Maria founded Vision for Africa International in 2001, an organisation that supports vulnerable children through education, care and community programmes across Uganda.

Born in Innsbruck, Austria, in 1939, Prean dedicated decades of her life to helping orphans and disadvantaged children, establishing schools and childcare facilities through her organisation.

For Kenzo, however, her legacy is deeply personal: he remembers a woman who offered the warmth of a mother and whose impact will remain with him long after her death.
