Former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago’s treason-related case has been postponed again following a medical emergency involving the presiding High Court judge.
Lawyer Medard Lubega Sseggona addressed the media outside court, expressing concern over the health challenges and emotional distress facing Lukwago and his family as the proceedings continue to experience delays.
No new hearing date has been announced.
Lukwago reportedly faces a charge of misprision of treason, said to have been filed in June 2026.
Sseggona said the defence had deliberately limited media engagement to protect the integrity of the court process. He also highlighted the emotional and financial strain the ongoing legal situation has placed on Lukwago’s family.
The latest postponement leaves the case pending as the defence awaits a new hearing date.
