Summary:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Officer to join our team in Kiryandongo, Uganda. This role will support the implementation of Early Childhood Education interventions as part of the USAID-funded Targeting the Learning Crisis (TLC) Activity. The ECE Officer will work closely with the Senior ECE Manager and project staff to deliver quality education and support services to vulnerable children and communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Implementation: Lead daily and weekly project activities, develop training materials, support parents and caregivers, and ensure the provision of essential materials and support to ECE centers.
  • Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with field-based team members, community leaders, and partners to ensure effective project delivery and client support.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Document best practices, prepare reports, collect data, and participate in assessments and surveys.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in ECE or education projects in Uganda or East Africa.
  • Experience in community-based programming and stakeholder coordination.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Job Title: Senior Early Childhood Education (ECE) Manager

Summary:
IRC is also hiring a Senior Early Childhood Education (ECE) Manager for our field offices in Terego, Lamwo, or Kiryandongo. The Senior ECE Manager will lead field-level project implementation for the TLC Activity, overseeing coordination, monitoring, and reporting to ensure effective execution of project activities and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Develop and implement work plans, oversee training material development, and ensure compliance with SOPs and budgets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead coordination at district and sub-county levels, manage project events, and develop communication materials.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track project performance, manage risks, and ensure timely submission of reports and data.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in education or humanitarian settings.
  • Strong project management, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel frequently.
