In a leaked phone conversation that has set social media abuzz, Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan is heard advising her husband, Shakib Lutaya, against visiting her in South Africa. The 16-minute conversation has sparked further speculation about the state of their relationship, already under strain following a recent public spat.
During the call, Shakib expressed his plans to visit Zari in South Africa, but she quickly discouraged the idea:
Shakib: “I was planning to move from Uganda, come to South Africa.”
Zari: “No, I’ll be so tired. I can’t stand you for a month.”
Shakib: “Why?”
Zari: “Nah… it’s just too much. I am busy. Like, I’m busy. I am doing a lot of adverts, I’m traveling. There’s kids, there’s running a business.”

The conversation highlights the tension between the couple, which has been escalating since Diamond Platnumz’s surprise visit to South Africa for their daughter Princess Tiffah’s birthday. Zari recently took to social media to publicly express her frustration with Shakib, downplaying his role in her life and reminding him of her independence.
The socialite didn’t mince words as she defended herself against Shakib’s dissatisfaction with Diamond’s visit. In an unapologetic online post, Zari emphasized her self-sufficiency:
“No one is going to wake up and say that I’m being kicked out of my house because of something I said… The Brabus I drive is mine; I also drive a Maybach and own a Range Rover. They all belong to me,” Zari declared.
Zari seemed puzzled by Shakib’s reaction to Diamond’s presence at the party, noting that she wasn’t even involved in the planning of the surprise visit. She suggested that Diamond might have worked with some of her household members to attend the event.
According to Zari, Shakib began to overreact after seeing Diamond at the party, questioning her whereabouts and insinuating that she still had feelings for her ex.
