Man’s Body Found in Septic Tank in Namungoona

Kampala, Uganda – In a shocking and gruesome discovery, police in Kampala have recovered a body concealed in a septic tank at a residential home in Namungoona Zone 11. The body, believed to have been in the tank for approximately two weeks, was discovered by a female tenant while disposing of rubbish.

The tenant immediately notified the landlord, Joseph Ssemugenyi, who in turn alerted the local council chairperson. The chairperson then contacted the police. However, upon the arrival of law enforcement, Ssemugenyi fled the scene, prompting a manhunt by the authorities.

On Monday, August 5, Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire addressed journalists at the Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala. He confirmed the incident and stated that Ssemugenyi’s wife had been arrested pending ongoing investigations.

“The police are committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident,” Owoyesigyire emphasized, urging anyone with information to come forward.

The deceased, believed to be a 36-year-old male, was found wearing a black t-shirt and trousers. The body was transported to City Mortuary in Mulago, Kampala, for a postmortem examination. The authorities are yet to release the identity of the deceased, pending notification of the next of kin and further investigation.
