The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has announced the My Identity Expo & Symposium 2026, a free three-day event bringing key identity services closer to Ugandans.
The expo will take place at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds from September 24 to 26, 2026, coinciding with International Identity Day.
Ugandans will access services including National ID services, NIN issuance, and registration of births, deaths and marriages.
NIRA says the event will also educate the public about biometric identification and the security features of Uganda’s National ID system.
The authority recently revealed that it blocked 2.4 million attempts to register duplicate identities during mass registration exercises.
NIRA has also clarified that linking NINs and TINs is meant to improve taxpayer records and does not automatically make every NIN holder a taxpayer.
