Truck Carrying Stones Loses Control and Crashes into Taxi, Two Dead, Nine Injured In Nkoowe Accident

Two people have been confirmed dead while nine others were injured in a fatal crash at Nkoowe along the Kampala–Hoima Road in Wakiso District.

The accident happened at around 1:33pm on September 8, 2026, involving four vehicles, including a Sino truck carrying stones and a commuter taxi.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the truck was travelling from Kakiri towards Kampala when it reportedly lost control at Nkoowe and rammed into three other vehicles, including a taxi that had stopped to pick up passengers.

The driver and conductor of the commuter taxi died on the spot.

Nine passengers were injured, including five adults and four juveniles.
