On the evening of Sunday, February 4th, chaos erupted at Nomad Bar and Grill in Bunga, Kampala when a security guard, reportedly disgruntled after being asked not to work due to intoxication, returned to the establishment armed and opened fire.
The security guard identified as Egwang Ambrose, according to Deputy KMP Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, left three innocent customers injured.
Earlier in the day, the manager of Nomad Bar and Grill had noticed that Ambrose, who was responsible for security, was under the influence of alcohol. Concerned for the safety of patrons, the manager wisely instructed Ambrose not to work that day, given his compromised state of mind.
However, at around 10 pm that evening, Ambrose appeared at the bar, armed and looking for the manager. Witnesses say he began shooting indiscriminately, resulting in injuries to three customers – two females and one male.
The victims were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment, where they are currently receiving care.
