The police in Kampala is currently investigating the tragic deaths of Senkungu Arnold alias Arnold Barber and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Atwine Shina.

According to the police statement released yesterday, the incident unfolded at Arnold’s residence in Kabalagala, where they were discovered in distress by their neighbor, Sserunjoji Frank, on December 27, 2023.
Arnold was found alive but succumbing to injuries at Kibuli Hospital, while Shina was found lifeless with a deep neck wound.
Neighbors, alarmed by fresh blood and locked doors, forced entry, leading to the discovery.
The police, responding swiftly with Homicide Unit assistance, uncovered a scene of struggle . A new knife with fresh blood was recovered, and witness statements became integral to the investigation.
Arnold had multiple injuries, and signs of a troubled marriage between the couple emerged. Shina had confided in a friend about mistreatment, and the purchase of a new knife suggested possible premeditation.
The motive for the murder is still under investigation, with further details to be provided.
The bodies are currently at City Mortuary, awaiting post-mortem examinations. The police encourage anyone with information to come forward to aid in the pursuit of justice.
