Luwunga Village LC1 Chairman Muwonge Muhammed and his co-accused Ssozi Abdalla have been remanded by Mukono Chief Magistrates Court over allegations linked to the illegal takeover of 311 acres of land in Luwunga Village, Nama Sub-county. Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced that President Yoweri Museveni has instructed him to release former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among from house arrest, months since his detention. Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) Chairperson Mariam Wangadya has agreed to surrender an industrial generator allegedly purchased using commission funds as Parliament intensifies its probe into questionable procurement at the institution.
