Pastor Aloysious Bugingo has revived a major fundraising campaign targeting more than Shs70 billion to support Salt Media’s satellite project, years after the initiative was put on hold.
The fundraising drive, which was initially launched on December 15, 2018, was reignited during a thanksgiving service at House of Prayer Ministries International following President Yoweri Museveni’s reported 71.6% victory in the January 2026 presidential election.
The event was attended by several government officials, including Minister for the Presidency Milly Babalanda, Attorney General Sam Mayanja and Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda.
While addressing the congregation, Bugingo called upon believers and well-wishers to support the satellite project, describing it as a faith-based initiative intended to expand the reach of the Gospel of Jesus Christ globally.

The revival comes after Salt TV reportedly faced financial difficulties, including a temporary disconnection from satellite services over unpaid fees reportedly exceeding Shs100 million.
During a prayer service last year, Bugingo had also appealed to followers to support the station and help restore its transmission.
According to Bugingo, the satellite project remains important to Salt Media’s mission of reaching audiences beyond geographical boundaries and expanding its Christian programming.
