Ugandan singer Elijah Kitaka has fired a pointed warning at Robert Kayanja Jr., claiming that he knows the “truth” and accusing him of traumatising him whenever he speaks publicly.

On October 16, 2026, the Swangz Avenue singer responded directly to Kayanja Jr. on X, writing: “You better shut up because if I start speaking you won’t like it. You traumatize me every time you open your mouth, you know the truth so shut up.”

Kitaka followed the message with another statement: “The truth will not hide forever.” He also challenged Kayanja Jr. to a one-on-one TikTok Live debate, suggesting media personality Kasuku as the host and warning him to “accept at your own risk.”

Kasuku reportedly expressed willingness to host the proposed debate, but Kayanja Jr. had not publicly accepted the challenge by the time of reporting.

Kitaka’s remarks have attracted attention because of his religious background. He grew up in a strongly religious family connected to Pastor Robert Kayanja’s Miracle Centre Cathedral. His father was among the early ministers associated with the church, while his mother sang in the choir.

The singer has previously spoken about leaving church after encountering what he described as contradictions and hypocrisy that deeply hurt him. His latest comments have sparked online speculation about what he means by “the truth,” although he has not publicly explained the specific claims behind his warning.

The exchange comes amid a wider public dispute involving the Kayanja family, Frank Gashumba and Sheilah Gashumba over questions surrounding church practices, miracle claims and accountability. Whether Kitaka’s proposed live debate will happen remains unclear.
