LIKDUL Makes History As First Ugandan Red Bull Dance Your Style Champion

LIKDUL, real name Abdul Malik, has made history after defeating MICO Styles to become the first-ever Ugandan winner of Red Bull Dance Your Style.

The national final was held on September 5, 2026, at Motiv in Kampala, bringing together some of Uganda’s top freestyle dancers, entertainers and dance enthusiasts for a night of intense one-on-one battles.

The competition featured LIKDUL, MICO Styles, KiiNESIS and PEZZ MUSTAFA in the semi-finals before LIKDUL and MICO Styles advanced to the championship battle.

With the audience deciding the winner, LIKDUL delivered the performance that earned him the crowd’s vote and secured the national title.

Unlike traditional dance competitions, Red Bull Dance Your Style challenges dancers to freestyle across different styles and react to unexpected music, while the audience determines who advances.

LIKDUL’s victory has earned him a place at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Zurich, Switzerland, in October 2026, where he will compete against national champions from around the world.

The national final also featured performances from Big Trill & Urban Dance Crew, Ava Peace & Thee Boys, MPERE, Paul Selah & Crew and STKA Boys. Karole Kasita performed during the after-party, followed by DJ Vans.

The Uganda edition had built momentum through activities including activations at Makerere University and MUBS, the Kampala qualifier at Somewhere Else on August 28, and a dance workshop led by Verb on August 29.

LIKDUL now heads to Zurich carrying Uganda’s hopes on the global dance stage.
