Senior NBS TV journalist and prime news anchor Samson Kasumba has revealed that he has no plans to ever leave television, saying the profession continues to give him immense personal satisfaction.
Kasumba, one of Uganda’s well-known television journalists, said there are very few things in life that could make him happier than the work he is currently doing.
For him, remaining in television is not a lack of ambition but a deliberate decision based on his passion for journalism and the fulfilment he gets from his career.
“Any opportunity that will take me away from television I am not interested in. Let me make this public. I am madly in love with television and that will not change. There are not that many things left in my life to find for me to be very happy. If you have not lived abroad you think everyone wants to live there. There are people who have already decided that is not their kind of life.”- he posted.
The veteran journalist also challenged the belief that every Ugandan dreams of leaving the country to live and work abroad.
According to Kasumba, people who have never experienced life outside Uganda may assume that everyone wants to relocate, yet he has consciously chosen to remain where he feels most fulfilled.
His remarks underline his continued commitment to journalism and television, a career he appears determined to pursue despite opportunities that may come his way outside the industry.
Any opportunity that will take me away from television I am not interested in. Let me make this public. I am madly in love with television and that will not change. There are not that many things left in my life to find for me to be very happy.
