Dubai-based Ugandan socialite Bryan White, once a prominent figure in Uganda’s social scene, is currently evading authorities in Dubai amidst fraud allegations.
Despite initially making headlines for his extravagant spending, Bryan White faced legal troubles in 2019, including accusations of attempted murder and sexual assault by individuals associated with his foundation.
Despite these serious allegations, no legal action was taken against him in Uganda. Subsequently, Bryan White chose to escape to Dubai, where he currently resides.
Recently, a viral audio clip on social media features a man identified as Mwanje, a Ugandan mobile money worker based in Dubai, accusing Bryan White of scamming him out of Ugx 4 million.
In the audio, Mwanje asserts that he lent Bryan White the aforementioned sum, expecting repayment within four days along with Ugx 200,000. Bryan White allegedly claimed to have received Ugx 20 million but faced difficulties withdrawing the amount due to financial constraints. Consequently, he asked someone else to assist with the withdrawal.
Surprisingly, instead of repaying Mwanje, Bryan White reportedly requested an additional 150 dirhams from him a few days later. Strikingly, Bryan White has since blocked all of Mwanje’s phone numbers and remains unresponsive to calls or messages for over a month, escalating the controversy surrounding his activities.
